Android TV Box
Selling Android Boxes from China

It's clear there is a market for Android TV Boxes but how do you tap in to that market place? How do you go about providing a lasting service for your customers? And - how do you ensure that your devices stay on the right side of the law? The last thing you need once you're up and running is a letter from someone asking you to cease and decist your selling of Android TV Boxes just because you added an unsavoury app. It has happened before, people like Tickbox TV were one of the biggest to fall to this.

The sourcing of Android TV Boxes is straight forward, Alibaba or AliExpress being the main two places to buy from. Just find a good supplier, choose an Android TV Box that has a high GB of RAM and the latest Android OS. Another consideration in today's market is how the device looks, you want something either stylish or something that stays out of sight - like the Amazon Fire TV Stick.

That's the Android TV Boxes sorted. Now how do we sell them on the internet legally and ensure our customers have an experience that they can't buy else where?

The bottom line here is not to pre-install any applications that are likely to get you any unwanted attention. Things like Kodi with pre installed thrid party add-ons that bypass the need to pay for premium content or pre paid IPTV connections. If you install these things on to the device and use them as a hook for sales you are 100% heading for a quick exit off all major platforms. Amazon will shut you down very quickly and eBay will do the same, only a little slower. The other issue is online merchants, PayPal, Stripe, Authorize.net and so on also don't like these products unless they are super clean. You will be banned from using an online merchant and that's really going to hurt your ability to generate revenue online.

Now we are in a situation where we are struggling to provide anything tangible to push us above the competition. Selling just the TV Box doesn't offer us anything that is going to help the customer make an informed decision to choose our Android TV Box over another sellers. This is where it gets interesting - having the Google Play Store installed on the device is OK, having the Amazon app store is OK. Basically, having an app store that actively weeds out piracy apps is fine. Even though you can easily download and install free movie and TV Show apps for android from both app stores all day, every day. But still, having these apps installed on your device isn't going to be a deal breaker. So, what if you had an app store that you control - and what if, you could update this app store remotely? Imagine that. You could provide apps, update them remotely for your customers and stay on the right side of the rules. Heck, if you wanted to you could go one step further and make this private app store launch on boot of the Android Device so that your customers don't even have to consider anything else.

Guess what, there is such a thing called AVSv4 - custom app store for Android
This is a bespoke Android application that can also be configured as the default launcher that will priovide the exact solution we are looking for and provides certain extras so that you can keep tabs on your customers. You can even charge customers for access to your private app store, essentially you wouldn't even need to sell Android TV Boxes to generate revenue with this. You could just distribute the app and providing you are sharing some of the best must have apps for Android you can tap in to a market.

Android TV Boxes, sorted. Custom Software, sorted. Now let's think about packaging. You can go for the default packaging but you lose a lot with no brand identity here. Your supplier will have some options for you to custom brand the devices and the packaging but these come at a premium or a hefty minimum order qualifer to get the service. You have two other options that will be more afforable for start-ups; Measure up the original box and have a new one custom made with your branding on it or just have a wrap around sleeve made for the original box. Boom, now you are creating brand identity and that's going to be really important for longevity in sales.

And finally, the selling. You're going need a website (we can help with that or a simple WordPress and Woocommerce site will do) and then consider launching on eBay and/or Amazon - it can be a little tricky getting a product on Amazon though. You're website alone would be enough but adding a market place to your strategy will do you no harm. To drive traffic to your website you're going to need some interesting blog posts that add value to readers - like this one I have done and then post a link to it in forums and on social media, the more eyes that hit your site the bigger the chance of making a sale. Traffic = sales but you have to drive the traffic in the right way. Being too 'sales pitchy' just isn't it these days. Get the right type of person to your site and use it as a sales funnel to close deals. After that just use the custom software to manage the customers.

That's pretty much it, please if you can to help the site please share this page on social media. Good luck and make those sales.
